prickle the thorny skin
a sum in shattered soul parts
for the shriekers on the horizon
grim hysterical penance
inner pleated fold in time
foul and turning at the edges
it is here where I learned
to see round corners
between squinted long lashes
peered into the deep
took flight and gripped tight
to the spell sweeping handle
